On Monday 10 March 2025, due to a 24-hour strike affecting eleven German airports, several flights departing from Luxembourg Airport to Germany were cancelled.
Luxembourg's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Viticulture, specifically the Directorate for Consumer Protection, issued a reminder that Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 establishes common rules on compensation and assistance for passengers in cases of denied boarding, flight cancellations, or significant delays.
The Directorate for Consumer Protection has reminded that passengers affected by flight cancellations are entitled to request either a full refund of their original ticket price or a comparable replacement flight, according to their preference.
For more information on air passenger rights, members of the public are encouraged to visit www.passagers.lu. This website features a Passenger Rights Simulator, a tool designed to provide consumers with solutions based on specific situations, including: delayed flights, cancelled flights, overbooked flights and baggage issues.
