The Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg (CSWL) 2025 took place this past week, with the Gala & Awards Night held on Wednesday 22 October.

The CSWL is a national initiative led by the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity (LHC), which aims to raise awareness, promote collaboration and showcase national expertise across the public and private sectors in the field of cybersecurity.

The 2025 programme was divided into three editions, with more than 20 events held throughout the year. The Spring Edition, held in June, featured the first Luxembourg GRC Summit, which gathered over 300 participants and more than 20 speakers and advisory board members from Europe, America and Africa, setting a new benchmark in governance, risk and compliance discussions.

The Special Edition took place during the World Expo Osaka, where the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity showcased national expertise through over 350 sessions of the ROOM#42 Virtual Reality (VR) Experience, allowing thousands of visitors to experience hands-on cybersecurity training.

The more recent Autumn Edition coincided with the ongoing hack.lu conference at Parc Hotel Alvisse, continuing Luxembourg’s tradition of fostering open dialogue and technical excellence in cybersecurity.

Following the third edition, the CSWL concluded with the Gala and Awards Night, bringing together professionals, innovators and decision-makers to celebrate excellence and innovation in Luxembourg’s cybersecurity landscape across four categories.

The Most Promising Young Talent award went to Team Luxembourg @ European Cybersecurity Challenge 2025 for their creativity and early-career contributions, representing Luxembourg in Poland.

The Cybersecurity Innovation Award was presented to PanIAM for its next-generation Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) enhancing risk visibility through proprietary technology, with support from LUCYA and Wavestone. The jury also granted a special “Coup de Cœur” mention to Data Design Engineering for its AI solutions that strengthen cybersecurity.

Pasquale Esposito, Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Grant Thornton, was named DPO of the Year for his leadership in data protection and privacy-by-design principles, while Mohamed Ourdane, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at POST Luxembourg, received the CISO of the Year award for his strategic vision and operational excellence in building secure, resilient infrastructures.

Pascal Steichen, CEO of the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity, commented: “These awards are more than individual recognitions – they represent the collective strength and excellence of Luxembourg’s cybersecurity ecosystem. We are proud to see such inspiring talent and innovation emerging from our community.”

According to the Luxembourg House of Cybersecurity, a highlight of this year’s achievements is the launch of the Luxembourg Cybersecurity Factory, which is designed to foster an open cybersecurity data economy and build trusted cyber commons, through three key pillars: developing AI models to improve threat intelligence; strengthening governance and compliance in AI adoption (including for SMEs); and managing AI vulnerabilities while helping the private sector mitigate quantum-related risks.
