G-Core Labs, a Luxembourg-based international provider of cloud and edge solutions, has announced the launch of the new point of presence (PoP) of its global network infrastructure in India's largest city, Mumbai.

The chosen location provides hosting services based on dedicated or virtual servers and also complements the global architecture of the company's content delivery network (CDN). These content delivery services are expected to be in demand among online businesses with customers or an audience in India, including suppliers of games and entertainment content, mass media, online retail, financial sector and dating services.

Dmitry Samoshkin, Vice President of Products at G-Core Labs, commented: “G-Core Labs continues to develop its international infrastructure, opening an important point of presence for our customers in India, the second most populous country in the world and one of the fastest growing online markets. There are more than 560 million active internet users today (note - 43% of the population), and their number should exceed 600 million by 2021". He added: "The Indian audience is very susceptible to electronic commerce, actively plays games, watches movies and uses various Internet services, so the leaders here will be the businesses whose online resources run uninterruptible and as quickly as possible. And we can help with it”.

Located in a Tier III certified data centre, the PoP promises access speed to a dedicated or virtual server of 200 Mbit/s.

The functionality of the automatic installation of the most popular operating systems (OS) (Windows and Unix), installed when ordering the server, is provided by the company’s dedicated and virtual servers, thus saving time for system deployment. Users can also connect their own ISO image and install the necessary OS themselves. All G-Core Labs servers are protected from DDoS attacks using G-Core Labs unique technology for intelligent filtering of network traffic.

G-Core Labs virtual server is based on KVM virtualisation technology, which guarantees high and uninterrupted performance and is equipped with fast SSD disks.

The global architecture of G-Core Labs's CDN, located on five continents, was created by experts on high-load systems. Today, it includes more than 60 PoPs, over 5,000 peering partners, over 300 cash servers and the total network capacity is 10+ Tbit/sec.
