On 1 March 2018, students attended the first Smart ICT for Business Innovation course of the year on the foundations of Smart ICT technologies, taught by Dr. Jean- Philippe Humbert, Deputy Director of the Luxembourg Institute for Standardisation, Accreditation, Product Safety and Quality (ILNAS).
The Smart ICT for Business Innovation university certificate, developed by the University of Luxembourg and the ILNAS, aims to address various aspects of Smart ICT and their applications such as Smart Cities, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing or Big Data. In connection with these technologies, the concepts of information security, ICT governance, and environmental issues also form part of the one-year programme.
In the first course of the 2018 session, held on the Esch-Belval campus of the University of Luxembourg, students – mainly ICT professionals – were encouraged to think about the problem of the innovation project they will develop through the internship in an integral part of the training.
The Smart ICT for Business Innovation university certificate is supported by various European and national organisations involved in the smooth running of the training: the Ministry of the Economy, CEN-CENELEC, ETSI, the Chamber of Commerce, Digital Lëtzebuerg, Fedil ICT and the Technoport. Industry partners Dell, Nadi Solutions and Telindus also provide support.
