From Friday 31 January to Sunday 2 February 2025, the second edition of this season’s Star Class skating competition for Juniors (level C/D) will take place at the Kockelscheuer Ice Rink (42 Route de Bettembourg, L-1899).
The event, organised by Club Hiversport Luxembourgeoise Patinage de Vitesse (CHLPV) and sponsored by the ISU Development Program, represents the first time a large international short track competition is being held in Luxembourg. The event will welcome 172 skaters from across nine different countries, with races taking place over distances of 500m, 777m, 1000m and 1500m.
Entrance to the event is free, however, places are limited. Live streaming of the event will also be available at www.shorttrackonline.info.
Competition schedule
Friday 31 January @ 09:30: Junior D W & M skate heats, quarterfinals, semifinals and finals for 777/1000m and then heats for 500m; eleven teams have a relay team. Not considered in the result. After the lunch break, the Junior C will complete the same set but starting with 1500m and in the end 500m heats.
Saturday 1 February, starting at 08:00: Junior D with quarterfinals, semifinals, finals and then heats for 777m and the Junior C first 500m quarterfinals, semifinals, finals and then 1000m heats.
Sunday 2 February, starting 08:00: a mixture of D & C races depending on the competition steward’s decision. Ending at 14:00, followed by the overall medal ceremony.

Following this event, Luxembourg skater Peter Murphy will compete at the ISU World Tour 5 which will take place from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 February 2025 in Tilburg, Netherlands, and the ISU World Tour 6 competition which takes place from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 February 2025 in Milan, Italy.
