Last Friday 13 December 2024, the draw for the FIFA World Cup 26 was held with Luxembourg being drawn in UEFA Group A against Italy/Germany, Slovakia and Northern Ireland.
Subsequently, the fixtures for the group matches have been confirmed.
As Luxembourg is in a group of four teams (not five), the Red Lions are not involved in qualifying matches in March or June.

The twelve group winners will qualify automatically, with the twelve group runners-up joined by the four highest-ranked Nations League teams who fail to qualify, battling it out in play-offs for the remaining four European places. Play-off matches are scheduled for 26 and 31 March 2026.
As a result of not being in a five-team group, Luxembourg may indeed find itself arranging friendly matches in those international windows (21-15 March and 6-10 June 2025).
