Luxembourg's Ministry of Finance announced that Minister Yuriko Backes will be in London from Thursday 7 to Friday 8 June 2022 as part of a financial visit to the United Kingdom.

Minister Backes will first be received by John Glen, Economic Secretary of the British Treasury and City Minister, for a working meeting. The two ministers will discuss topical issues of common interest. In particular, they will discuss ways to further intensify bilateral exchanges.

Then, Minister Backes will sign with Lucy Frazer, Financial Secretary of the Treasury, a new tax convention between Luxembourg and the United Kingdom aimed at avoiding double taxation and preventing tax evasion. This new convention will replace the old treaty signed in 1967.

On the sidelines of her visit, Minister Backes will attend the official launch ceremony of the Business Club Luxembourg-United Kingdom. This new platform will aim to link the business communities of the two countries and aims to create new fruitful Anglo-Luxembourgish partnerships.

Finally, Minister Backes will have discussions with leaders of several British financial institutions present in Luxembourg.
