The Luxembourg Parliament yesterday adopted the draft budget for 2020.

The adoption took place during the public parliamentary session on Thursday morning. It followed a presentation of the report on the 2020 draft budget by rapporteur Yves Cruchten, a presentation by Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, and reactions from the deputies.

The 2020 draft budget was ultimately adopted by a majority of 31 to 29 votes. The coalition government parties (DP, LSAP and déi Gréng) voted in favour, whilst  representatives of CSV, ADR and the Pirate parties voted against its adoption.

The 2020 draft budget is expected to exceed the €20 billion threshold for the first time.
