The European Animation Awards association has announced the 90 nominees competing for the Emile Awards 2018.

Among them, there are not less than 10 nominations for Luxembourg Co-Productions:
- Funan - Bac Cinema (Best Direction, Best Writing, Best Background & Character Design, Best Sound Design);
- The Breadwinner - Mélusine productions (Best Direction, Best Storyboard, Best Character Animation, Best Background & Character Design);
- White Fang - Bidibul Productions (Best Storyboard);
- Luis and the Aliens - Fabrique d Images (Best Character Animation).

The winners of the awards will be announced on 8 December in Lille at the Emile Awards ceremony being held at the concert hall Le Nouveau Siècle.

Created in 2015, the European Animation Awards reward the animation industry throughout 40 countries in Europe.

All EAA members will be granted a right to watch the nominated films and vote in all the categories.

Emile Awards aim to be considered as the highest animation film honour in Europe, similar to the famous Annie Awards in the US, which deeply inspired it. A total of 17 trophies will be awarded to various areas of animated production.
