On Monday 24 February 2025, Luxembourg’s Fondation Hëllef fir d’Natur announced the publication of its 2024 annual report.

As reported by the foundation, the publication offers a detailed look at the actions taken over the past year to preserve biodiversity and natural environments in Luxembourg.

The foundation highlighted the projects of 2024, in particular forest plantations, new acquisitions, the restoration of natural habitats through the LIFE Bats&Birds and ReStruktur projects, as well as efforts to raise awareness among the public through communication and education. It also highlighted the progress made thanks to the partnerships established with local and international players, as well as the growing involvement of local authorities and citizens committed to nature.

In 2024, the Fondation Hëllef fir d’Natur received €501,000 in private donations, €385,000 in sponsorship and €140,000 in other donations and bequests. It acquired a total of 146.53 hectares of land last year, for the purpose of protecting nature.

The foundation currently counts on 27 experts and is involved in twelve projects (at the international, European, national and international levels).

Christine Scherentz, Head of Communications at the Fondation Hëllef fir d'Natur, commented: "This report illustrates not only the challenges we face, but also the successes we have achieved for the environment. We hope it will encourage even more people and companies to support the Foundation in its actions".

The foundation invited interested parties to work together to pursue environmental actions for a more sustainable Luxembourg.
