The Luxembourg Water Management Authority (Administration de la gestion de l'eau - AGE) has announced that it detected pollution in the Mess in Reckange-sur-Mess on the afternoon of Thursday 29 June 2023.
A clogged conduit reportedly caused sewage to spill into the watercourse. Neither the origin of the plug nor the quantity spilled could be determined at this stage.
Agents from the AGE and the intermunicipal syndicate with an ecological vocation (Syndicat intercommunal à vocation écologique - SIVEC) went to the site.
Measures were taken and the leak was stemmed. Aerators have been installed at the height of the Lameschmillen. The AGE took water samples from several locations.
