US Embassy in Luxembourg;

On Friday 17 January 2025, the US Embassy in Luxembourg announced the opening of applications for the distinguished Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship (BFTF).

This prestigious four-week summer programme in the United States invites secondary school students to deepen their understanding of US foreign policy and its role in fostering democracy, civil society and economic growth. Participants will engage in an intensive curriculum that includes lectures, interactive seminars and collaborative workshops, designed to cultivate leadership skills and encourage cross-cultural dialogue.

The fellowship provides a unique opportunity for students to connect with peers from across Europe and the United States, building networks that support global cooperation.

The BFTF is named after the legendary American statesman and diplomat, Benjamin Franklin, as the fellowship embodies his spirit of diplomacy and cooperation. The initiative is designed to empower the younger generation of Europeans and Americans, building robust connections, and fostering an understanding of shared values.

This fellowship is open to students aged 16 to 18 years, who are keen to explore international relations and develop a transatlantic network. The US Embassy will nominate one candidate from Luxembourg to participate in the fellowship.

The application deadline is set for 3 February 2025.
