On Sunday, Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Étienne Schneider, paid a working visit to Kuwait City to strengthen cooperation with Kuwait.

During his visit, Étienne Schneider had an exchange of views with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He also had a bilateral meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart Khaled Nasser Abdullah Al-Roudan, Minister of Trade and Industry.

According to Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy, these various meetings between Étienne Schneider and the Kuwaiti authorities have reaffirmed the excellence of bilateral relations. The discussions thus made it possible to identify a series of avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic field. As such, both parties agreed to sign two agreements in the near future, namely a protocol incorporating into the OECD standard concerning the exchange of information on request in tax matters into the convention for the avoidance of double taxation and an air agreement that will replace that of 1993.

During his visit, Minister Schneider also participated in the inauguration of the "NB Chocolate House Luxembourg", the second branch of the Luxembourg Chocolate House tea room in the Middle East after that of Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
