In the 2015 Beer Price Index compiled by Berlin-based GoEuro.lu, Luxembourg ranks #47, with Krakov the cheapest and Geneva the most expenvive.
The wave of holiday departures is now imminent; but when it comes to choosing the ideal destination, there is much more to consider than the price of transport and accommodation. Concerned that travelers are better informed on the subject, GoEuro.lu has compared the prices of buses, trains and flights across Europe and has now chosen to classify internationally the price of the drink that has no borders: beer.
Thus, the 2015 Beer Price Index has analysed data on the 5 most commonly imported beer brands in the country concerned and the main local beer in each city, in order to determine the ranking of the Beer Price Index in 75 cities worldwide. This index reveals where beer costs the most and least expensive, as are the cities where one finds the greatest number of beer lovers.
It is in Krakow where one can pay the lowest price for beer. In the Polish city, a cold beer will cost you only €1.48. In Western Europe, Malaga sees the average price of a beer at €1.53. However, Geneva is the city to avoid if you like beer and your budget is limited. Changes in the exchange rate continued to push up prices in Switzerland: a glass of beer cost you no less than €5.64. Geneva is closely followed by Hong Kong (€5.50) and Tel Aviv (€5.17). Luxembourg meanwhile, is positioned mid-table: with an average price of €3.21 for a 33cl beer, ranked in 47th position.
