Following the free delivery of a first batch of COVID-19 antigenic self-test kits to companies in the Horeca sector to support the gradual opening of restaurants and the return of customers in complete safety, the Government, the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Trades and Horesca has confirmed the free delivery of a second batch of self-test kits.
The kits, in the form of redeemable vouchers, will be delivered by post to the head office of the companies concerned, which will then need to make an appointment using the QR code provided to collect the self-tests from Luxexpo The Box (via the North Parking entrance).
In line with the government strategy of prevention and fight against the virus and in accordance with the "COVID law" of 16 May 2021, customers wishing to consume inside an establishment in the hospitality sector must present a negative PCR test taken within the preceding 72 hours, a certified negative rapid test (which must be performed by a person authorised to perform such a test - see www.covid-test-ag.lu) within the preceding 24 hours or a negative antigenic self-test carried out on-site. Customers can wait for the test result outside, or inside the establishment while wearing a mandatory mask. If the client's result is positive, he/she is asked to leave the premises, to self-isolate, to inform his/her close contacts and to declare his/her result on www.covidtracing.public.lu.
After the free sets have been exhausted, companies will have to obtain themselves antigenic self-tests. A list of recommended self-tests can be found on the site: https://covid19.public.lu/dam-assets/covid-19/documents/depistage/Liste-autotests.pdf.
This common approach aims to guarantee the health safety of customers and employees in the sector and to avoid situations conducive to the transmission of the virus.
Two practical guides devoted to the use of self-tests in organisations and assistance from the General Directorate of Middle Classes are available online at https://www.cc.lu/services/publications/
