In what is a first for Luxembourg mineral water, the Lodyss brand which was launched in 2020 has picked up a DLD Gold Medal.

A year ago the National Brewery launched the mineral water of the Ice Age, Lodyss; after its first 30,000 HL sold, the Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft (DLG) award recognises the quality of Lodyss. The "Goldener Preis" award was conferred in January 2021 to Lodyss for its natural and slightly sparkling waters, after it obtained the maximum score of 5/5.

The DLG was founded in 1885; it is the first European agro-food organisation to be recognised as an official "Certifier" for the whole of Europe. Experts from the DLG Food Analysis Centre evaluate around 260 mineral, spring and table waters each year according to the strictest criteria. The Gold Medal is the highest grade awarded by DLG.

The Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg officially recognised Lodyss with its launch as natural mineral water. Lodyss water comes from a water table located more than 300m deep in thr ground, in Bascharage. Extensive analyses were carried out with the help of researchers from LIST (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology). The results revealed that the water dated back to the Ice Age, 30,000 years ago, and had not come in contact with any human-made pollutants. The result: incomparable purity and a mineral composition suitable for everyone.

LODYSS is 0 nitrate certified. Low in sodium and minerals, it can be consumed by everyone, without moderation. For all these reasons, LODYSS has been recognised as suitable for infant nutrition by the French Ministry of Health.

The director of the Brasserie Nationale stated "It is a great pride for the National Brewery to see Lodyss rewarded with such a prestigious award which recognizes the very high level of quality of this water well beyond its borders.
