Danish cyclist Mattias Skjelmose Jensen has taken the leader's yellow jersey from France's Valentin Madouas after winning the individual time trial of the 2022 Skoda Tour de Luxembourg in Remich on Friday 16 September 2022.
In his first professional victory, Mattias Skjelmose Jensen, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Trek - Segafredo, secured the fastest time in the fourth-stage 26 km time trial in Remich, in south-eastern Luxembourg. The 21-year-old finished three seconds ahead of France's Kévin Vauquelin (Team Arkea - Samsic), with fellow Dane Morten Hulgaard (Uno-X Pro Cycling Team) finishing in third place.
The win saw Mattias Skjelmose Jensen take the overall lead, knocking Valentin Madouas, who had worn the yellow jersey for the first three stages, down to fourth place.
Luxembourg's Kévin Geniets (Groupama - FDJ) finished the time trial in sixth place (34:30), thus securing the best result among riders from the Grand Duchy.
