New Zealand road and track cyclist Aaron Gate, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Bolton Equities Black Spoke Pro Cycling, secured victory in the third stage of the 2022 Skoda Tour de Luxembourg.

The third and longest stage (188.4 km) of the 2022 Skoda Tour de Luxembourg took 108 riders from Rosport to the finish line near the football stadium in Diekirch on Thursday 15 September 2022.

This stage ended in victory for Aaron Gate, who crossed the finish line after four hours 40 minutes and 58 seconds. In second and third place were France's Benjamin Thomas (Cofidis) and Italy's Davide Ballerini (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team), respectively. Italian professional road cyclist and Stage 2 winner Matteo Trentin (UAE Team Emirates) finished in fourth place.

The stage win took Aaron Gate up to fourth place in the general classification. France's Valentin Madouas, who won Stage 1 of the 2022 Skoda Tour de Luxembourg, held on to the overall lead (12:33:04).

Luc Wirtgen (Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB) secured the best position among the Luxembourgers, in 15th place.

The fourth stage will take place on Friday 16 September 2022. The route will start at the Esplanade in Remich, climbing through the vineyards to the edge of Schengen, before following the Moselle river to return to Remich for the stage finish.
