Geraint Thomas of Team Sky is the wearer of the yellow jersey after Saturday's prologue in this year's 3-week Tour de France cycle road race that started in Dusseldorf, Germany, on Saturday.
The British rider covvered the 14km individual time trial course in 16 minutes 04 seconds, 5 seconds ahead of Stefan Kueng (Switzerland, BMCc Racing Team), with Vasili Kiryienka )Team Sky a further 2 seconds back.
Luxembourg's Ben Gastauer (AG2R La Mondiale) was 119th, 1 min and 13 seconds behind the leader. A total of 196 riders completed the prologue course, with 2 riders retiring from the race, including Alejandro Valverde who finished 3rd in the 2015 race.
Sunday's Stage 2 sees the riders set off from Dusseldorf to Liège in BBelgium, with Monday's Stages 3 and 4 in Luxembourg.
