On Monday 2 November 2026, Luxembourg-based cultural non-profit association Resonance asbl announced that it will host a concert on Friday 20 November featuring two musicians of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

The two musicians, Olha Petryk (violin) and Ryou Banno (viola), will perform Three Madrigals by Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů from 18:30 at Pianos Kelly in Niederanven (17 Rue de Munsbach).

Resonance describes Three Madrigals as “a masterpiece for the rarely heard combination of violin and viola, widely regarded as one of the finest works for these instruments since Mozart”.

“With its rhythmic vitality, expressive contrasts and intricate interplay between the two instruments, Martinů’s Three Madrigals hold a special place in the relatively small repertoire for violin and viola.”

The work will be introduced in English by Geoffrey Piper, former committee member of the International Martinů Circle, who will offer insights into the composer and the music.

A collection will also be held in support of Aid Raid, a Luxembourg-based humanitarian organisation helping people in Ukraine.

Entrance is free and reservations can be made via email to resonance.luxembourg@gmail.com.
