As part of the Chinese New Year festivities, the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg is organising, with the support of the Association Française de Danse du Dragon et Lion Chinois, an exhibition called "La Danse du Lion" (The Lion Dance) at the Maison du Savoir (ground floor) on the University of Luxembourg's Belval Campus until Friday 28 February 2025.
The organisers described the Chinese lion dance as "a spectacular tradition with a rich history and great cultural and sporting significance". This exhibition serves as a first glimpse to understand the richness of this discipline, looking at its historical origins but also its cultural importance and its evolution as a sporting discipline.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome to visit the exhibition.
