Tango has launched the latest Fairphone 3 exclusively in Luxembourg, in order to meet the growing demand for solutions that are more respectful of the planet and its inhabitants.

This smartphone, which is considered to be more respectful of the environment, also cares about manufacturers and various service providers involved in its production around the world. The idea came from a start-up in the Netherlands, created by Bas Van Abel and recognised by Greenpeace for its use of recycled materials.

From a technical point of view, this new smartphone has everything one would expect. Running Android, it has a 5.7 inch full HD screen, 12MP photo quality and 4K for video. However, the device's strength lies mainly in its modular design. The architecture of the device is simplified to the extreme so that it can be easily maintained and thus guarantee a longer service life. The materials used are also recycled as much as possible or from conflict-free areas. Fairphone is the first smartphone company to integrate fair trade gold into its supply chain.

"We are pleased to announce our partnership with Tango in Luxembourg," commented Leon Boshuizen, Commercial Director of Fairphone. "This new market for Fairphone gives us the opportunity to offer an even more ethical smartphone that reflects our mission: to show that it is possible to create a more sustainable technology that cares about people and the planet".

Luis Camara, Chief Consumer Market Officer of Tango, added: "It is a great pride for Tango to be able to exclusively offer the Fairphone 3 smartphone which combines performance and respect for the environment. This is part of a global approach on our part and we are happy to be able to encourage these types of initiatives".

Fairphone 3 is now available in Tango shops in Luxembourg City, Bertrange and Diekirch.
