On Tuesday 28 December 2021, the Luxembourg Institute for Standardisation, Accreditation, Safety and Quality of Products and Services (ILNAS) announced that, under the authority of the Ministry of the Economy, it was asked by the company Secolux to draft a national standard allowing supervision of the technical control of construction.

The objectives of this national standard (ILNAS 105-1) are multiple, as follows:

• Define the technical control mission;
• Specify the framework and professional rules;
• Explain the implications and scope of the assignment;
• Set the framework for compulsory accreditation of technical inspection offices according to ILNAS-EN ISO / IEC 17020.

The technical committee in charge of developing the standard has now completed its work. Following validation of the draft standard by the ILNAS steering committee on Standardisation, the document reference was published in the Official Journal of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to receive the status of a national standard.

Called "ILNAS 105-1: 2021", this national standard on the technical control mission is now available free of charge via the ILNAS e-shop.

ILNAS confirmed that national experts actively contributed to the development of this national standard, as did CRTI-B which, in its role as national standardisation office in the construction field, provided valuable support to ILNAS throughout the process.
