emeis Inaugurates New Residence Gallery in Strassen

On Thursday 24 September 2026, emeis inaugurated its new Residence Gallery nursing home and care residence in Strassen, three years after opening Residence Récital in Luxembourg-Merl.

The new facility offers 126 beds and also includes a serviced residence comprising 62 apartments. According to emeis, the project was designed around architecture, nature, art, well-being and quality of life.

The inauguration took place in the presence of: Nico Pundel, Mayor of Strassen; Laurent Guillot, Chief Executive Officer of emeis; and Stéphanie Rondoz, Director of Residence Gallery.

Designed by architect Pierre Mourialmé around the concept of "Living in a Garden", the residence features a large landscaped central garden intended to provide residents with a connection to nature. Gardens, terraces and bright communal areas are designed to encourage walking and social interaction.

The site also includes a playground accessible to children, with the aim of strengthening its intergenerational character and connection with the surrounding neighbourhood.

Speaking with Chronicle.lu, Stéphanie Rondoz explained that the residence aims to integrate into its residential neighbourhood through intergenerational activities and cooperation with the municipality, particularly through activities centred around art, which forms the theme of the residence. She added that Residence Gallery offers a semi-gastronomic restaurant and a high-end living environment.

The residence takes its name from an interior design concept centred around art, with each floor dedicated to a different artistic discipline. Emeis noted that artistic activities and experiences can be used as non-pharmacological approaches to support self-expression, cognitive stimulation, self-esteem and well-being among older people.

Residence Gallery also features dining facilities, communal spaces and a wellness area with a swimming pool.

The 62 serviced apartments can be rented regardless of age, in accordance with Luxembourg legislation. According to emeis, this is intended to contribute to a diverse and intergenerational residential environment and respond, among other things, to demand from expatriates.

To mark the inauguration, Residence Gallery will hold Open Days on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2026, from 14:00 to 18:00.

Visitors will be able to discover the apartments, communal areas, wellness centre, nursing home facilities and landscaped garden through guided tours organised throughout the afternoon. To register, visit Residence Gallery website.
