Fintech’s young start-up SESAMm has succeeded in bringing together well-known, influential figures from the world of finance in a meeting in Luxembourg.
Following the official launch of its activities in Luxembourg, the start-up, which concerns French and Luxembourgish ecosystems, organised a huge conference, its first major project, to bring together important decision-makers to discuss the central issue of “Asset Management and Big Data: new motors of performance.”
SESAMm carefully chose 137 guests, coming from a diverse range of backgrounds from Europe and the USA, to invite to the event, which took place at the BGL BNP PARIBAS headquarters in Kirchberg.
The objective of the conference was to create awareness amongst important financial figures and, in particular, those involved in asset management. The central issue focused on the use of innovative new solutions provided by Big Data and artificial intelligence in the area of the financial market, and more specifically, the domain of systematic trading.
Due to the precursory nature of the possibilities offered by Big Data, it is not always easy to understand its use to people working in finance. The main issues in terms of Big Data are the determination of needs, new opportunities and, above all, concrete uses for finance professionals. In this way, the conference allowed for these questions to be discussed using concrete examples.
Among the experts present were Erick Brethenoux, world strategy leader at IBM Watson Analytics, the IT programme for artificial intelligence which was created by IBM.
Following the success of its first conference, SESAMm plans to make it part of an annual meeting which is essential for financial figures and which aims to help them adopt these types of technology.
