The first Solar Convention was held recently in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on the initiative of the Solar-Center and Electro-Center companies based in Lorentzweiler.
During the event, which was held at the Domaine de Belenhaff on 16 October, various projects and perspectives on solar energy were presented in collaboration with renowned partners. The topics covered a wide field, ranging from electric cars to solutions for municipalities involved in the Climate Pact.
While most European countries have cut subsidies for solar installations, this measure has proved interesting for a long-term boost to the market. The time has now come to invest in clearly defined limits, putting more than ever the quality and reliability in the foreground, with a long term vision. According to a study published in the summer by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, solar energy could represent between 9 and 12% of energy demand in Europe by 2030.
At the Solar Convention, participants were able to discover innovative sectors that are quite different thanks to a series of keynote presentations, including BenQ Solar, Ecolights Solare Beleuchtung GmbH, Enovos, Levasoft, LG Solar, PMT Solutions GmbH, SMA and Solaredge: a new era is about to open in Luxembourg for the photovoltaic market that could hardly be more dynamic. Many professional visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the software, the latest generation of photovoltaic panels and solar lights.
Visitors to the event could also test, exclusively, various means of locomotion, on the spot including cars, electric bicycles and Segways. This first Solar Luxembourg Convention has been the meeting point of the central actors of the local photovoltaic market.
Solar-Center is a subsidiary of the company Electro-Center, active for over 40 years on the Luxembourg market. Solar-Center takes care of the complete study of photovoltaic systems.
