The Festrogen Festival featuring feminist comedy has announced that its 2025 festival will take place from 24-27 April 2025, with its flagship weekend expanding with new workshops, fresh talent and what they describe as an electrifying line-up of shows.

The festival will take place in a brand-new venue with two festival shows taking place in the newly extended basement of Konrad Café, meaning a larger audience can enjoy the entertainment. The festival will also continuing its collaboration with Le Croque Bedaine to spotlight Luxembourg’s homegrown comedic talent.

New this year will be:
- Sketch Writing Workshop – Shape the next generation of comedic storytellers.
- Inclusive Comedy Spaces Workshop – A must-attend for producers looking to foster safer, more respectful stages.
- "Drawing Jokes" Workshop – Where comedy meets visual art in a playful, creative fusion.
- Crowdwork Mastery Workshop – Hone your quick wit and think fast on your feet.

Workshop tickets are now available, see below.

Beyond the workshops, the festival has lined up three performances:

- Thu 24 April: A showcase of local talent to kick off the festival.
- Fri 25 April: Mouthy Broads – A side-splitting comedy sketch show.
- Sat 26 April: The Festrogen Gala Show – A grand celebration of top-tier comedy.

Tickets for the shows will be available mid-March.

The festival organisers are flying in two expert facilitators from the Netherlands and one from Brussels.

Comedy with a Purpose

Festrogen is not just about laughs — it is about community, inclusivity and empowerment; the festival is continuing its partnership with Rosa Lëtzebuerg, ensuring that all workshops are welcoming and LGBTQ+ inclusive. Most sessions will be hosted at the Rainbow Center in Luxembourg City, reinforcing their mission of creating a supportive, feminist comedy scene.

What is Festrogen Festival?

Festrogen was born out of a need for change. The festival emerged as a response to the male-dominated comedy landscape in Luxembourg and beyond, creating the kind of supportive network the founders wished had existed when they started out. Since 2023, Laughs in Translation Asbl has powered this initiative, fostering growth and creativity in the comedy community.

At its core, Festrogen is about workshops that challenge and inspire. So far, over 60 comedians of all genders have benefited from these sessions, and their shows have entertained more than 500 audience members.

Expanding Their Reach

Comedy should be accessible to everyone; therefore the workshops are open to all feminists, regardless of gender, and the organisers offer scholarship spots to ensure no one is left out. Since 2024, they have been hosting regular comedy events featuring big names including Dwayne Perkins, as well as screenings with live Q&As from comedians. Now they are taking things international: this autumn, they will team up with Frankfurt’s Funny Females ‘n’ Friends to co-produce a mini-festival in Germany, extending its mission to amplify diverse voices across Europe.
