The Network and the British Ladies Club (BLC) have announced that, on Saturday 1 December 2018 they are organising a yuletide visit to the medieval Christmas Market in Bernkastel-Kues, described as one of the prettiest towns on the Moselle river.

The Christmas market in the town is lovingly decorated with 40 wooden chalets and add an additional, even magical, atmosphere to this already picturesque town. The many market stalls wind through the old town's narrow streets from the Marktplatz to Graach Gate.

The Network & BLC are organising a coach to travel from Luxembourg city (Glacis car park) to Bernkastel-Kues at 11:00, with pick-up/drop-off points in Grevenmacher and Trier, and departing the town at around 18:00.

Lunch will be at the Restaurant Bahnhof-Cues.

Those attending will spend the afternoon at leisure to browse, shop and taste the Christmassy delights before coming together with a mug of Glühwein and encourage approximately 100 swimmers as they plunge into the freezing cold waters of the Moselle, "armed" with a burning torch and swim out to greet St Nicholas.

At 17:30 the beautifully decorated Moselland Advent calendar house in the market square will open to a fanfare of lights and music when they will listen to a recital of the Advent poem and then head back to Luxembourg after a magical day at around 18:00.

Cost: €15/person. To register, see https://bit.ly/2Dgody2
