On Tuesday 5 October 2015, Stëmm vun der Strooss held the second edition of its 'Well-Being Day', with make-up artists and masseurs on hand to treat people in need to a day of pampering.

The first Well-Being Day took place in June, the success of which prompted as a follow-up the transformation of the Stëmm vun der Strooss canteen into a treatment centre where Stëmm's regular clients were able to enjoy manicure, hair cuts, reflexology and massages. This was offered in addition to the 220 person breakfast of coffee and croissants sponsored by the Bank of New York, volunteers from which served a barbecue in the afternoon provided by Auchan supermarket.

110 people were the recipients of new haircuts throughout the day, courtesy of hair salon Avant-garde, represented by its manager Cyrill Hohl and a seven-strong team of stylists. In turn, the Relax Max team and representative Maxime Raux offered massages and reflexology, kneading away the stresses of 41 people, many of whom had never before received such a treatment.

"You do not make money, but you make people smile, and that's all we ask for today," commented Cyrill Hohl, with many clients and volunteers citing the day as a "very rewarding experience".

"This is a special day that lets people forget the stresses of daily life," stated Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss. "Those who are deprived are also entitled to well-being and relaxation. As a general rule, having the means to take care of your appearance and being able to relax both mind and body makes you feel better and gives you confidence. The chance to have a professional massage, manicure or reflexology is particularly rare and unaffordable for those living on the poverty line or below it but can have significant benefits."

Stëmm went on to emphasise the willingness of volunteers to provide support to people in difficult situations. A poster was produced by Mathieu Thiltges, a student in the first year of BTS communication as Lycée Classique of Diekirch who helped to organise the first edition.

This poster was then sent to various social services in order to encourage those who use their services to take advantage of Stëmm's Well-Being Day, including Abrisud, Jugend an Drogenhellef, Foyer Ulysse, Vollekskichen, Abrigado and Streetwork.
