Tour de France winner and Luxembourg cycling hero Andy Schleck has been announced as the official race Ambassador for the RBC Race for the Kids organised by Royal Bank Canada and the Luxembourg Red Cross.
The 5 kilometre family fun run, a result of the collaboration between the Luxembourg Red Cross, Clue d'Athlétisme Luxembourg and the Ville de Luxembourg, is being held for the public to raise funds in support of the work of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapy Centre run by the Red Cross. The Therapy Centre offers support to children aged between 4 and 14 who suffer from behavioural disorders, as well as their families. All revenues from registrations and funds from donations and scholarships will be given to Kannerhaus Jean.
"I am delighted to be the official race ambassador for the first ever RBC Race for the Kids in Luxembourg and help support the Luxembourg Red Cross' Kannerhaus Jean centre and the amazing assistance they provide children and their families," commented Andy Schleck. "The fun run is also a great opportunity for families to come together, get outdoors and for kids and their parents to be active and get some exercise, in support of such a worthy cause".
The fun run is not timed and is open to all members of the public, irregardless of age. The race will take place at 10:00 on Sunday 25 October 2015 at the Parc de la Ville de Luxembourg. Registration can be filled out at www.rbcraceforthekids.lu until 21 October 2015. Registration costs €15 for 16s+, €10 for 7-16s and free for children under 7.
