On Tuesday 22 September 2015, the British Ladies Club of Luxembourg presented a check for €4,400 to the Social Office of the Ville de Luxembourg.

The donation followed a succession of fund-raising initiatives that the British Ladies Club has developed to help support good causes and charitable associations which assist people in need, of which the Social Office of the Ville de Luxembourg is one such institution.

Over the years, the British Ladies Club has donated more than €50,000 to the Social Office, a figure which it has now contributed to further with a cheque for €4,400, made up of funds raised from the Club's annual flea market.

The contribution will be distributed as grants to a dozen young people beginning university studies, either abroad or at Uni.lu, and whose parents are supported by the Social Office.

The cheque was awarded at the Hôtel de Ville in the presence of UK Ambassador to Luxembourg, HE Alice Walpole; the Collège des Bourgmestre et Échevins de la Ville de Luxembourg, represented by Lydie Polfer and Patrick Goldschmidt; and President of the Board of Directors of the Social Office, Colette Flesch.
