Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has announced its decision to commission seven musical compositions by Luxembourgish and / or resident composers for the 2023-24 season.

Following a call for applications, launched by the ministry on 9 June 2023, 26 composers submitted an application. Each composer could freely indicate the ensemble(s) for which they would like to compose a musical work lasting at least eight minutes.

The project's partner ensembles and orchestras evaluated the requests addressed to them and selected the following composers:

Roland Wiltgen for the Luxembourg Vocal Ensemble;
Gast Waltzing for the Luxembourg Philharmonic;
Catherine Kontz for the Orchestre de Chambre de Luxembourg (OCL);
Olivier Dartevelle for Kammerata Luxembourg;
Marco Pütz for the Luxembourg Military Band;
Félix Turriòn Eichler for the European Soloists Luxembourg (SEL);
Pascal Schumacher for United Instruments of Lucilin;

Commissioned works from Luxembourg’s Ministry of Culture receive a total of €65,000 (excluding VAT), distributed among the various partner ensembles and orchestras.
