On Thursday 1 April 2021, Quatuor Akilone, a promising young string quartet, will perform its "Voyage Poétique" (poetic journey) at the CAPE - Centre des Arts Pluriels Ettelbruck in central Luxembourg.

Recognised for the deep and poetic vision of the works it addresses, this ensemble defends the vast repertoire of the string quartet with musicality, intelligence and fantasy. It has performed in the largest theatres in Europe as well as in prisons and among refugees.

Quatuor Akilone is the result of a musical and human adventure born in 2011 in Paris. The quartet takes its name from the word "aquilone" (kite in Italian), which the four musicians see as a link between heaven and earth. The ensemble hails from the prestigious European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) and in 2016. it won both the First Grand Prix and the ProQuartet Prize of the 8th Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition.

Sharing the stage with other musicians is deemed essential for this young quartet which has already performed alongside Tabea Zimmermann, Jérôme Pernoo, David Walter, Sharon Kam, Pavel Gililov and Jean François Heisser. Quatuor Akilone draws its inspiration from the richness of these artistic encounters. Driven by the need to forge a close bond with the listener and aware of the issues that cross the musical world, the quartet seeks to open its horizon to a large audience.

"Voyage Poétique" includes works by Franz Schubert, Alban Berg and Maurice Ravel.

The quartet is composed of Anna Göckel and Élise De Bendelac on violins, Perrine Guillemot on viola and Lucie Mercat on cello.

The concert is taking place at CAPE on Thursday 1 April 2021 at 20:00. Tickets cost €26, €13 for under-26s or €1.50 with a Kulturpass and can be reserved via tel.: 268-12681 or via email: billetterie@cape.lu.
