The Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg has announced the return of the City Open Air Cinema to Place Guillaume II (Knuedler) in Luxembourg-Ville this summer.

From 25 July to 1 August 2024, Place Guillaume II will be transformed every evening into an open-air cinema, equipped with a large screen and more seats than before.

On the programme this year is a selection of classic, contemporary and cult films, including Challengers by Luca Guadagnino, Casablanca by Michael Curtiz, Les Demoiselles de Rochefort by Jacques Demy and Mon Voisin Totoro (Japanese version) by Hayao Miyazaki. The programme will conclude with a special Ciné-Concert evening in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Buster Keaton's Sherlock Jr., accompanied by a live musical performance.

All screenings will begin at 21:30 and are free of charge, operating on a first come, first served basis. Screenings will go ahead even if it rains.

Drinks and snacks will be available on-site.
