On Tuesday 25 February 2025, SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde announced a new partnership with Brucher Thieltgen & Partners, aimed at supporting development programmes, emergency aid, resilience support and educational initiatives worldwide.
According to the press release, Sophie Glesener, Director of SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde, and Lisa Forrler, Communications and Fundraising Officer, were invited by Nicolas Thieltgen, Managing Partner of Brucher Thieltgen & Partners, a multidisciplinary law firm specialising in business law, to a brunch held at the firm's offices in Luxembourg.
According to the announcement, the Brucher Thieltgen & Partners chose to support SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde by creating greeting cards featuring the association's colours and making a "generous donation to the Luxembourg-based NGO, marking the beginning of a partnership set to grow."
Director Sophie Glesener presented SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde and its recent projects, including the construction of classrooms in the very poor southern region of Madagascar, noted the press release. Her colleague Lisa Forrler then discussed the various ways to get involved with the NGO, before talking about the major initiatives and campaigns already planned for 2025. A presentation of a €3,500 cheque from the firm's partners then took place. "The representatives of SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde were delighted with this new partnership, which promises great joint efforts in support of vulnerable children and young people who are deprived of the opportunity to fully enjoy their childhood and youth due to multiple and complex crises," the statement noted.
As stated by SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde, this donation will be directed towards their projects. The Luxembourg-based NGO is "a member of the SOS Villages d'Enfants International federation, which operates in over 130 countries and territories, benefiting nearly three million people. SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde is currently involved in around twenty projects, including development programmes (West Africa, Uzbekistan), emergency aid and resilience support projects (Ethiopia, Palestine, Central African Republic, Ukraine) and educational initiatives, particularly in Morocco."
