Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, has reported that eight pupils from the Lycée Classique in Echternach recently donated €700, raised as part of their mini-business Big Beef Burger.

The young people themselves decided to donate their profits to the Stëmm vun der Strooss to support people in need. The contact was made by Paul Kohnen, teacher of the mini-enterprise.

On Tuesday 9 July 2024, Dany Frank, volunteer coordinator for the charitable organisation, was invited to the official handover of the donation, which took place as part of the end-of-year party at the Lycée Classique in Echternach in the presence of three students from the mini-business, Charel, Lara and Sofia.

She said it was "really impressive that Charel and his team demonstrate such social awareness. Recognising one's own happiness and then sharing it with the less fortunate in our society is a fundamental value of our community. A big thank you also goes to Mr Kohnen and the school management for their support with this project."
