For the first time since 2020, the parents' association of the municipality of Berdorf recently organised a collection of chocolates and sweets for the benefit of Stëmm vun der Strooss recipients.
According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports homeless people and vulnerable members of society, this was a pre-pandemic tradition in the municipality, which regularly organised similar campaigns.
This year, for one week, schoolchildren could donate the “Kleeschen” (Saint Nicholas) and “Liichtmëssdag” (Candlemas) chocolates of which they had too much to people in need.
The municipality handed over five full boxes to Bob Ritz, Communications Officer for the charity, on Monday 6 March 2023, in the presence of the school teachers and pupils. He congratulated them on this initiative: "Today you are all little heroes and the fact that you give to someone who has less deserves a lot of praise.”
