The Grand Ducal Police recently donated over €5,000 to Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation that supports homeless people and vulnerable members of society, to support the "Caddy2." project.

As part of its annual "social action", the Grand Ducal Police launched an internal appeal last year to support Stëmm vun der Strooss. A video made by the Grand Ducal Police helped raise awareness among officers about the activities of this local non-profit. In an interview, Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, also presented the new Sanem-based project Caddy 2., for which the donation will be used.

In total, the Grand Ducal Police raised €5,020 for this project; the sum was handed over to the non-profit during an official cheque presentation on 16 February 2022 in the premises of the Directorate-General of the Grand Ducal Police. The donation ceremony took place in the presence of the Director General of the Grand Ducal Police, Philippe Schrantz, and Alexandra Oxacelay.

For this project, based in the "Um Woeller" industrial area in Sanem, Stëmm vun der Strooss will employ 40 additional people, who are undergoing vocational rehabilitation. The non-profit will also aim to increase the amount of food collected, processed and redistributed (under strict food safety managment) in partnership with the Auchan hypermarket from 100 to 500 tonnes.

The funding phase is still ongoing and Stëmm vun der Strooss has called on the support of all donors who might be interested in this social, ecological and economic project.
