Médecins Sans Frontières in Luxembourg (MSF) has annihnced that D'Millen asbl in Beckerich, an MSF partner municipality, is hosting the emergency medical humanitarian organisation for a week-end as part of the "MSF in the municipalities" project to mark MSF's 50th anniversary. A screening-debate, a photo exhibition, an escape game and a special menu will be offered to visitors from Friday 9 July to Sunday 11 July at the Moulin de Beckerich.

Getting closer to the work of Médecins Sans Frontières

A cinema debate will open the weekend on Friday 9 July at 18:30 with the screening of Egoïste, a documentary by Stéphane Santini and Géraldine André, narrated by Lambert Wilson. It is an immersion into the reality of humanitarian work through the testimony of 40 humanitarians and their families. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Roberto Baldanza, a humanitarian worker who has just returned from Sierra Leone where he was responsible for advocacy for MSF. The feelings, thoughts and impressions left by the film can be shared and the question around the title of the film debated: selfishness or commitment?

Starting the following day, visitors can try to stop an Ebola outbreak during an escape game: Africa 2021, an Ebola outbreak is confirmed in a small village. Participants are part of the MSF epidemiological surveillance team and go to the site to work with local staff to stop the epidemic. Time is running out for the teams and they have to complete the mission in one hour. Will they be able to stop the virus before it's too late?

A photography exhibition and a charity menu throughout the weekend

Photography has been part of the DNA of Médecins Sans Frontières since its creation in 1971. During these 50 years, new and renowned photography professionals and MSF humanitarian staff have met in some of the most serious crises of this half-century. This exhibition aims to draw attention to issues that affect the most vulnerable populations and that are relegated to the background in the news. It is accompanied by a sound experience to be discovered throughout the weekend.

The Chef of the restaurant An den Miller will have the honour of proposing a special MSF Menu and above all a solidarity menu as part of the price will be generously donated to MSF.
