International law firm Allen & Overy recently donated gift cards worth €2,000 to Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourgish NGO which supports the homeless and vulnerable members of society.
Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, explained that the gift cards had "made mand people happy". They enabled the Caddy service team to receive hygiene products, phone top-ups, underwear and clothing to meet the needs of the most underprivileged. Dry products, which had been in short supply, were also purchased, thus guaranteeing the continuity of the NGO's free distribution of food parcels.
This is not the first time that Allen & Overy employees have supported Stëmm vun der Strooss: for the association, the law firm has been an important partner for over a decade. Employees regularly volunteer to make the traditional Christmas party possible, as well as organising fundraising events to finance underwear and sleeping bags, among other things, which the association distributes for free to people in need.
