In light of the ongoing health crisis and related restrictions, the Luxembourg Red Cross will hold its traditional bazaar in an adapted format this month.
During the month of Noember, Red Cross volunteers are organising the "Bazar on Tour" via a digital platform and a series of pop-up events, in line with the relevant health regulations.
A microsite accessible via the Red Cross website will allow the public to visit the bazaar virtually and to support the stands that are close to their hearts. The site will also provide an overview of the various pop-up events, which are planned throughout the month of November in Luxembourg City and its surroundings.
From 2 to 7 November 2020, the Vintage Mood stand will mark the start of the “Bazar on Tour” in Livange, where visitors will find second-hand clothes and other bargains. The Brocante Coup de Cœur, for its part, will offer lovers of old objects a wide choice by appointment throughout the month in Dommeldange. In addition, two large ephemeral concept stores will open their doors on the last two weekends of November in the Royal Hamilius shopping centre. Visitors will find design and vintage objects, as well as gastronomic delicacies, trendy decor for the garden and home and a selection of artworks. Another highlight will be the visit of Saint Nicolas to the concept store on 22 November 2020.
All proceeds from "Bazar on Tour 2020" will go towards children and young people made particularly vulnerable by the current situation. Assistance will be offered in the form of social and psychological support and in the areas of academic success and the promotion of youth autonomy.
Manou Hoss, President of the Red Cross local section of Luxembourg City, explained: "While it seemed essential to us to take into account the current health context, it seemed just as important to us to continue the activities of the Bazar [in] other forms, both innovative and user-friendly, to ensure our financial support in favour of young people under 25, particularly vulnerable this year by the COVID-19 crisis”.
All the meetings and the digital platform can be found on the website of the Luxembourg Red Cross.
