Handicap International (HI) has resumed its collection activities in Luxembourg's municipalities after a COVID-19-related hiatus.
In March 2020, HI suspended door-to-door fundraising in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NGO resumed these activities in mid-October and they will run until the end of the year. Collection activities began in the various districts of Luxembourg City before extending to the entire territory.
During the health crisis, the goal is to gain monthly support from new donors. This regular commitment is considered essential to enable the association to continue its actions in favour of the world's most vulnerable people, especially in the context of conflicts or humanitarian disasters. The monthly donation gives the opportunity to act without delay and to help injured or disabled people in the long term to regain their independence.
For this new collection campaign, HI's teams of collectors, equipped with masks, will travel across the Grand Duchy, going door to door while respecting health measures and applying barrier gestures. Collectors are easily identifiable thanks to their uniforms in the NGO's colours and their identification badges. For the sake of transparency and security, financial support is provided exclusively by direct debits via tablets. HI’s fundraising teams never collect cash.
