ASTI, the non-profit association for migrant workers in Luxembourg, has launched a new appeal for donations to help undocumented immigrants survive during the challenging circumstances linked to COVID-19.

In spring, ASTI launched a first call for donations for undocumented migrant workers who live and work in Luxembourg and no longer have the resources to survive.

Between April and July 2020, ASTI distributed food vouchers to undocumented immigrants for a total amount of €30,452.05. Donations financed €14,546 of this sum and the Œuvre Grand Duchesse Charlotte contributed €10,000, to which ASTI to added equity capital of €5,906.05. A total of 253 people, including 69 children, present in Luxembourg for an average of three to four years benefitted from this assistance.

However, ASTI is still receiving requests for food aid, with migrant workers struggling to find an occupation allowing them to earn enough money to support their families.
Through public donations, the association will be able to continue distributing food vouchers from the beginning of October, allowing beneficiaries to make free purchases at social grocery stores.

Those wishing to support this cause can make a donation via bank transfer to the ASTI Solidarité account: CCPL LU72 1111 1515 1501 0000 - reference “support for undocumented migrants” ("soutien aux sans-papiers"). Donations are tax deductible.
