Save One Life, a US-based NGO with links to Luxembourg, has announced that it is holding a sponsored cycling tour from Wasserbilligerbück (Germany) to Remich (Luxembourg) and back, on the weekend of 12 to 13 September 2020.
The sponsored tour, under the name "Wheels for the World", aims to raise awareness and money for Save One Life, a non-profit organisation which supports people in developing countries with blood disorders such as haemophilia. Many of these people still live in difficult circumstances without adequate medicine.
The trip is being undertaken by Marelle Hart, Europe Development Liaison at Save One Life, and her partner Ton Roodhuijzen, who live in Wasserbilligerbück and have two teenage sons with haemophilia and thus understand "the importance of good care".
Wheels for the World will take place everywhere at the same time; people will cycle a similar trip in several places across the world. In Germany-Luxembourg, they will cycle about 60 kilometres in total, all the way along the river Moselle.

In addition, the film "Bombardier Blood" is now available. This film is about Chris Bombardier, the director of Save One Life who has haemophilia himself and who has climbed the seven summits - the highest mountain on each continent. The film shows him climbing Mount Everest as well as visiting haemophilia patients in Nepal. Bombardier Blood can be rented on iTunes, Amazon and YouTube. 20% of the proceeds will go to Save One Life.
