The Luxembourg Autism Fondation (Fondation Autisme Luxembourg - FAL) has announced that it is looking for volunteers to help out in residential structures in Bostalsee in Germany.
The FAL confirmed that its first holiday camps have so far gone well and safely, despite the exceptional situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic. On-site activities were adapted to ensure a safe distance between participants and the teams were informed daily about the current situation of both Luxembourg and the country of residence in question.
The foundation's teams have already started to organise the next holiday camps, which will take place in autumn as well as in winter. In order to provide people with autism with one-on-one support and thus tailor-made care, the FAL relies on the assistance of volunteer holiday companions. This way, every person with autism gets their own personal companion, to whom they can turn at any time.
In this context, the FAL is still looking for eleven volunteers to spend time with the residents of residential structures in Bostalsee in Germany and accompany them during their stay away from home. These five-day holidays will take place between 16 November and 10 December 2020. The minimum age to go on holiday is 18 years.
