The National Library of Luxembourg (more widely known by its French abbreviation BnL) has raised over €2,000 for UNICEF Luxembourg.
Following the retirement of Monique Kieffer, outgoing director of the BnL, the team raised €2,230 for the UNICEF “Conceptos Plasticos” project, which aims to build schools from recycled plastic bricks.
The funds will be used to support an education project in Ivory Coast which aims to build 500 new classrooms through the use of recycled plastic bricks. Thanks to this innovative project, the plastic collected in the polluted areas of Abidjan and its surroundings will be transformed into bricks, thus making it possible to build schools, relieve pollution and improve the daily environment of children.
