At the end of June, ALDI Luxembourg, represented by its Managing Director Pierre-Alexandre Rocour, presented Marie-Josée Jacobs, President of Caritas Luxembourg, with a cheque for €5,000.
This donation is the result of an initiative organised by ALDI Luxembourg between 6 and 19 January 2020, primarily involving the store's customers. For every special end-of-year ("Fêtes de fin d’année") magazine returned to one of its stores, ALDI paid for a hot meal as part of the "Christmas in ruins" ("Un noël dans les ruines") initiative.
ALDI customers showed solidarity by bringing back their magazines, which enabled Caritas Luxembourg to prepare and distribute 10,000 hot meals this past winter.
