Caritas Luxembourg has announced the installation of a new kitchen-workshop at its Centre Ulysse for homeless people.

The new kitchen-workshop, made possible thanks to LuxairGroup and Drees & Sommer, will host a range of culinary activities, allowing homeless people to relax, learn and re-socialise. Luxembourg consultancy firm Drees & Sommer planned and implemented the site for free, while LuxairGroup financed the equipment.

Indeed, LuxairGroup has been supporting the activities and services of Caritas Luxembourg for several years. In 2019 and 2020, it was mainly homeless people who benefited from their social commitment: offering sandwiches and soft drinks, distribution of health and beauty products, provision of fridges, organising a CV writing workshop and now, the establishment of this kitchen. Other workshops, such as a cooking and nutrition workshop are being planned.

Meanwhile, Drees & Sommer has chosen to support Centre Ulysse as part of its social project, organised for its 50th anniversary. The hours of planning and coordination of the kitchen-workshop site were provided by the company. In addition, Drees & Sommer plans to organise a culinary event at the centre as soon as conditions allow.
