The Stand Speak Rise Up! Association, an initiative of Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, has paid a special tribute to scientific committee member Anne-Marie von Arx-Vernon, who passed away on Thursday 4 June 2020.

Throughout her life, Anne-Marie von Arx-Vernon, a member of the Grand Council of Geneva, contributed to laws on domestic violence and the regulation of prostitution. The association highlighted her strong commitment to the fight against human trafficking and violence against women. For 20 years, she was deputy director of the "Au Cœur des Grottes" Foundation, a shelter for women and children in difficulty.

It was as an expert that she had been invited by Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess to speak during the Speak Speak Rise Up! Forum in March 2019, particularly during the workshop related to the inclusion of children born of rape, during which she presented several concrete cases of people she helped during her humanitarian career. She then joined the scientific committee of the Speak Speak Rise Up! Association when it was created in September of the same year.

The association concluded that Anne-Marie von Arx-Vernon was involved in projects in which she believed; she was a woman of honour, a fighter and a model of commitment for future generations.
