SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde has been named a humanitarian partner of this year's ING Night Marathon Luxembourg, taking place on Saturday 23 May 2020 in Luxembourg City.

In past years, teams of partner companies and individual runners have participated in this important sporting event in the name of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde. For 2020, the association has been selected as a humanitarian partner of the 15th edition of the marathon. On 23 May 2020 at 19:00, more than 15,000 runners from all walks of life will take part in one of the marathon's events, whilst also transforming the challenge into a sign of solidarity.

When concluding the partnership, Erich François, who is in charge of the race organising company "step-by-step", highlighted: “For 15 years that the ING Night Marathon Luxembourg has existed, it has always wanted to join in major humanitarian causes. I am delighted to start this new partnership with an NGO which is concerned with the fate of children around the world. Through its actions, SOS Children's Villages World reminds us that refugee children are too often forgotten and that a chain of solidarity must be formed to help them".

Sophie Glesener, Director of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, added: "We are very happy to be involved in this sporting event which is also a wonderful multicultural moment. And above all, we are delighted to be able to benefit from this essential event which will help us to strengthen our action in favor of children who face daily danger and violence and who are forced to flee their country. We thank Erich François and the whole step-by-step team".

SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde has set itself the goal of raising €20,000 at the 15th ING Night Marathon Luxembourg. To support these efforts, each runner can donate €3 to the association when registering for the marathon. They can also launch their own collection by mobilising their friends through the crowdfunding campaign "ARE YOU READY? I AM READY!" on the givengain.com platform. For their part, the public can support runners and teams participating in the marathon via this same platform.
